Seminar Details:
Accounting Fundamentals for non-accountants
About the Topic:
Finance and accounting extend into virtually every aspect of the business world. Financial statements of listed companies are used by investors for buy/sell decisions and financial institutions to analyse credit worthiness of these companies. Understanding financial fundamentals is one of the core competencies for project managers and business leaders.
This short seminar is targeted at non-finance business and project professionals to de-mystify accounting terms such as “debits and credit” and to provide the audience with a basic understanding of accounting concepts. This will help them communicate better with finance people in the course of their work. This seminar will cover:
- Fundamental accounting principles
- Overview of financial statements
- Introduction to financial ratios, capital investment evaluation
- Useful tips on project cost monitoring
