This is an intermediate-level course providing participants with the key skills for successful outsourcing and vendor management. The ability to manage vendors and third-party suppliers is essential for every manager nowadays. Projects inevitably involve equipment vendors, subcontractors or both, whereas more and more operation is outsourced to the third-party service providers. It is important to excel in every aspect of a vendor management cycle starting from make-or-buy / in source-or-outsource decision, vendor identification and selection, service transition, to managing the vendor over the life of a contract. This course covers different skills required during the various phases of a procurement cycle. Participants will learn from the lectures, case studies and exercises to master the knowledge and skills in working effectively with vendors to accomplish key business objectives.

Instructor’s Profile - Mr. Alex Sin
Alex Sin is an independent consultant with more than 26 years of IT experience with expertise in Consulting, Project Management and Training. Alex used to be Learning and Development Manager at Hewlett-Packard HK SAR Limited. He is a certified instructor in a number of training including Negotiation, Consulting and Management Development. Alex is certified as a ITIL/ITSM Manager, well equipped with Methodology to deliver IT Consulting. He is also a practitioner of PDI, MBTI and DISC well-known consulting tools. He holds various certificates of PMI Certified PMP® and PMI-ACP®.

Alex enriched his Project Management experience from large scaled projects like Libraries, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and Companies Registry. Alex shifted his role to business manager in 1995 and was dual-hatted as the Outsourcing Manager in charge of Home PC Call Centre. Since Y2K, he dedicated himself to Learning and Development and developed a number of professionals in the Greater China.

Alex is currently a Vice President of Young PM Development at Project Management Institute Hong Kong Chapter. Alex graduated from The University of Toronto with major in Computer Sciences and Mathematics.
